I always love happy happenstance… such as this wedding from Des and Jennifer. They live in the UK and found me through the internet and asked if I’d shoot their wedding. I knew I wasn’t going to get the usual engagement session, so I wouldn’t get to meet the bride and groom until the day of the wedding. Jenn looked amazing in her dress, and when I got to the church in Nyack to shoot the groom, I ran into an old friend… it turns out someone I know from high school is the brother of the bride. The part that was even better was that this was partially a Scottish wedding, and so kilts were the order of the day. Additionally, as the brother of the bride, my friend Jeff had to wear a kilt as well.
The ceremony was quite nice… we took formal pictures inside the church and a couple of bridal party shots outside the church as well. Then we headed to The View on the Hudson in Piermont… no dancing, as this was a religious wedding, but they did have some traditional island dancers, and they even gave the bride and groom along with the bridal party some lessons on dancing. They had musical performances by friends and family and it all went over very well. Overall it was a great wedding and everyone had a lot of fun. We got one last shot of everyone wearing the different patterned tartan kilts… there was even a pair of tartan pants… apparently that’s the more formal version. And here I thought the kilt was the formal.

Lovely photos, I really like the Dutch angles and composition with the kilts, good stuff my friend. Hope you had fun at the other wedding farther north that day! Did you get a chance to fix the 5d?
