Melissa & Andrew: Bear Mountain Wedding Photography

Filed under Weddings • Written by Ryan @ 11:27 pm

Okay, so we had our fun with the SPOTLIGHT photobooth, but Small Moments Studios had a great time during the rest of the day with Melissa and Andrew as well.  The Overlook Lodge at Bear Mountain is a great venue, and Melissa had it decorated very nicely with flowers and settings by Grammy’s Garden, along with beautiful place cards that she made by hand.  The ceremony was very beautiful, and quite touching since her father was the one who performed it.

Here are a few images from the day… this wedding marks the end of our summer weddings!  Our September and October marathon is coming up!

Be well.

Rockland County / Westchester NY Wedding Photography: SPOTLIGHT photobooth

Filed under SPOTLIGHT • Written by Ryan @ 7:58 pm

Small Moments Studios had a great time at Melissa and Andrew’s wedding at the Overlook Lodge in Bear Mountain yesterday… what an awesome group of people.  Melissa and Andrew added two things to their wedding package that I think everyone should add… a custom sign in album featuring their engagement pictures, and of course, our very cool SPOTLIGHT photobooth.  I’ll be adding a post with some pictures from their wedding, but I couldn’t resist putting up some pictures of the rockin’ SPOTLIGHT photobooth we had.  If you were to rent an actual photobooth from another company, you’d be paying around $1,500… in our opinion, our SPOTLIGHT setup is a much better solution at a much better cost.  Contact me (Ryan) at 914-715-8003 to add this to your wedding package!  This is just a quick sample of some of the fun we had… with Keith manning the “booth” and taking pictures, everyone had a great time.  Melissa and Andrew wanted to add the white board so people would be able to write them messages… very cool.

Okay, more pictures from the wedding coming up soon!

Be well.

Kat & JP: West Point/Thayer Wedding Photography

Small Moments Studios had the pleasure of shooting Kat and JP’s wedding this past Friday.  We’ve been looking forward to their wedding, especially after their great engagement session… Kat and JP just have such a classic feel to them.

Make-up was done by Christine at Color Make-up Studios… she does such a great job of creating an elegant and natural look… and hair was done by Salon on the Hudson at the Thayer Hotel.  We started off at the Thayer and then headed over to St. John’s in Mahopac for the beautiful ceremony.  After that we headed back to West Point to enjoy the rest of the evening at the Thayer.  Kat’s dance with her father was to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, and I’ve decided that has to be the song I dance to with my youngest daughter on her wedding day.  And then we heard “Dream a Little Dream” and I realized I had to dance that song with my oldest on her day.  Okay, they’re both under 4 years old, so I’ve got some time…

Here are some of my favorite shots from the day… it’s always so hard to pick only a handful to post, and this wedding was no exception… enjoy!

Be well.

Mary & Charlie: Westchester Engagement Session Photography

Filed under Engagement • Written by Ryan @ 12:12 pm

We had a great time this past weekend, first at my daughter’s birthday party (my youngest turned two!) and then on Sunday at an engagement session with Mary and Charlie in Sleepy Hollow at the Philipsburg Manor Historic House.  We hung out with the sheep and chickens and learned a little history along the way… and the clouds waited patiently for us to finish before they started the rain.  One of the best parts (other than being charged by some sheep) was when I took a shot of their shoes… Mary said to Charlie “See… that’s why I wore these shoes… to match you.  I knew he was going to take a cool shot of our shoes!”  True true… I do like a cute shoe shot…

We’re looking forward to their wedding in October… and it’s strange to think that October will be here shortly!

Be well,

-Ryan.

Jen & Rich: Westchester/Chappaqua Photography (Crabtree Kittle House)

One of the hard things about creating teasers and slideshows is having to limit the amount of pictures we use.  This ROCK STAR slideshow has about 100 images, and I could have easily added another 100 of my favorites.  Jen and Rich (check out the initial teasers) had a great wedding and the bridal party was tons of fun.  We started off the day at the Oasis Day Spa, then traveled to the ceremony at Bronxville Reformed Church.  The reception followed at the always awesome Crabtree Kittle House in Chappaqua.  One of the added bonuses this time around was that we had Nick Nishizaka, an associate shooter, with us to capture more images, some of which are featured here…

After all the fun we have with couples on their wedding day, we hate for the day to end… though we enjoy working on the pictures and video, reliving the fun… but with the case of Jen and Rich, we’re continuing some of the fun by filming a follow up interview as well as one of our Finale Trash the Dress sessions… so stay tuned for pictures from that!

Enjoy!  Be well!

…most of you guys know Keith… usually shooting video, sometimes along as an additional shooter, always entertainingly funny… well this is a ROCK STAR slideshow from a wedding he shot a little while back… so Keith is not only funny, but he’s got skills as well.

Congrats again, Laura and Rich!  I know I had a great time during our engagement session in Grand Central, and Keith had a great time with you guys on your wedding day!

Be well,

-Ryan.

Tara & Paul: Stony Point, Haverstraw Wedding Photography

Filed under Weddings • Written by Ryan @ 1:27 am

When I met Tara, she said she really wanted to get a shot of her and her fiance Paul on their boat… after discussing her plans, I realized to get the shot she wanted, I would have to be on a boat as well!  I’m game for almost anything, so I was really looking forward to this wedding.  The church ceremony was very nice, and following that, we headed down to the PennyBridge Marina in Stony Point.  We had a great session with Tara and Paul along with the bridal party, then we headed onto the boat.  Their boat is named with their initials… PT Cruizin.  Now for their engagement session, we took pictures tied to the dock… but this past Saturday, we were out on the water, zippin’ and bouncing along the Hudson.  Following alongside us was the bridal party in their own boat.

After getting all the shots I needed whilst on Tara and Paul’s boat, I hopped onto the bridal party boat (carefully) in order to get some shots of the couple on their boat.  We took the boats down to Haverstraw and had the reception at the Haverstraw Elks Lodge which is a pretty cool venue right on the docks.  More shots of the bridal party, more fun, and then we went inside and party was jumping.  All the decorations fit the beach theme including the cake which looked like the beach, only much more edible.  Here are some of the fun images we captured with a truly fun bride and groom and their rockin’ bridal party.

Oh, and that first shot posted required me to lay down on the front of the boat… no, not while it was docked, but while on the choppy water… but the shot was worth the risk!  Congratulations once again, Tara and Paul!  It was a great afternoon and a great night!

Enjoy!  Be well.

Melissa & Andrew: NY Engagement Photography

Melissa and Andrew are getting married at the end of the month and we spent the afternoon together up at Innisfree Gardens.  We’ve been up there before and it is a gorgeous park and it’s also quite large as well.  We wandered down some new paths and had a great time… next time I’m back at the gardens though, I’m bringing a picnic lunch.  Here are some of the images from the day… enjoy!  We’ll have their wedding pictures up at the end of the month…

Be well.
