It’s been a great wedding season, and capping off our list of well over 30 weddings was Andrea and Shane’s wedding at one of our favorite venues, the Thayer hotel at West Point. I’ve been excited for this wedding for a long time, one, because Andrea and Shane are a great couple. Two, because it was the last wedding of the season, and three, because we were doing more than shooting their wedding. They had me attend the rehearsal dinner at Dinosaur BBQ in NYC… so I got to get a preview of the celebration, and I got to know a lot of the bridal party and family. And the day after the wedding, I ran back to the Thayer to shoot some of the morning brunch.
On the wedding day, Keith was on video duty with Steve second shooting for me. Steve is a great shooter and we were happy to have him along. We had an awesome time with everyone and it was clear that this couple and their friends were in the mood to celebrate. Heck, even Shane’s mom was up playing the bongos with the DJ.
Andrea looked beautiful, Shane looked great and everyone had a blast. This was a great end-of-the-year wedding, and on top of that, I got to hear some great Garth Brooks as well. ”Friends in Low Places” is a great song to end the night with! Julie and Mike from their 10-10-10 wedding… the party was crazy rockin’ especially if you consider it was a Sunday afternoon… but there was such a sweetness with this couple that I think comes through in their ROCK STAR slideshow. We really had a great time with them and it was such a fun wedding. Enjoy!

It’s been such a fun year shooting all of the engagement sessions for our weddings… we’ve got a head start on our 2011 weddings as we’ve done about five of those engagement sessions already. I’m assuming that this one for Natalia and Jonathan was the last engagement session of the year, and it was a great session to end with. Natalia and Jonathan are getting married at the Falkirk Estate and Country Club in Central Valley in January, so they might be the first wedding of the year as well. We shot their engagement session at Bear Mountain, and we were able to still catch some beautiful colors, and the weather this day was perfect. I’m looking forward to Natalia and Jonathan’s wedding, and to shooting the engagement sessions for the rest of our 2011 couples!

Kelly and Creg are getting married next October in Poughkeepsie and we scheduled their engagement session to catch the leaves changing this year. We had a great day and a lot of fun walking through Plum Point Park in New Windsor (right across from Anthony’s Pier 9). They make such a nice couple… very relaxed and fun. Here are a couple of images from their day!
…here is the ROCK STAR slideshow for MaryBeth and Charlie… I love selecting the images for this… it makes me smile, reliving the fun of the day again. Keith, Nick and I had a great time capturing the images and video of the day. Hopefully you get a feel for how much fun we all had, and how awesome this couple is!

Stacey and Paul’s wedding last month was so much fun… they are just awesome, and the music was rockin’ and in my opinion, everything went as perfectly as possible… we had Nick and I shooting the wedding and I’d switch over at times to join Keith in shooting some video… check out the ROCK STAR slideshow from the day. Awesome couple, bridal party, awesome speeches, awesome dancing… you get the picture… it was all around awesome.
Caitlin and Andrew’s wedding was this past weekend and Small Moments Studios was there to shoot one of our last weddings of the season. Caitlin and Andrew are such a fun couple and we had a great time spending their special day with them. Keith was there, second shooting and running our SPOTLIGHT photobooth, which was, once again, a great hit. Caitlin had even made her very own special props for the pictures… but we’ll save all of that for another post early next week. So come back to the blog next week for more from this wedding! Meanwhile, here are a couple of teasers from their Dutchess Manor wedding. Oh, and I must say… possibly one of the most awesomest things I’ve experienced this year: mashed potatoes in a cocktail glass topped with bacon bits. I mean, c’mon. That is plain awesome.

As the leaves are all coming down, we’re squeezing in the last couple of engagement sessions to take advantage of the beauty in this time of year. Kelly and Dan are a great couple and we had a chance to shoot their engagement session at Stone Barns. Kelly and Dan are a very cool, laid back couple that seem really in tune with each other. With this amazing weather we’ve been having, it’s great to still be out there shooting… and that we’re even able to get some beach pictures is great. Here are some teasers from their session! We’ll see them at their wedding in October of 2011.

I had a great time at Jennifer and Antonio’s engagement session by the Brooklyn Bridge… I’d been to the park there for a wedding years ago, and it was great to be able to be shooting there again. Jennifer and Antonio make such a great couple together… they’ve got the coveted 11/11/11 spot for next year… so yeah, thinking about it, that’s a year from tomorrow! For about half a second, I considered holding off on this blog post until tomorrow as a “1 year to go” post, but then I figured, eh, I can’t wait.

I had the opportunity to shoot Andrea and Shane’s Engagement Session the other day in preparation for their big day right after Thanksgiving… this was a last minute, early morning shoot, and we had a blast walking the paths hanging out by the bridges, and just having fun.
We’re really looking forward to their wedding for a number of reasons… one being that this is a fun couple… two is that their wedding is at The Thayer in West Point and we love that venue… and three that it’s the last wedding for the season for us… one last wedding before we hibernate and continue our editing and album design… then we’ll be trying to get a lot of things done before we start back up for some weddings in February.
