Richard and Star: Sinapi’s Ceola Manor, Jefferson Valley Wedding Photography

Filed under Weddings • Written by Ryan @ 5:40 pm

I absolutely love my job… I get to work with great people and capture special moments in their lives.  Every wedding I shoot is an honor and I’m so happy that Richard and Star allowed me the honor of shooting their day.  Such an awesome couple… and I’ll refer you to their engagement session, because it was great, and because it was so long ago, you’d have to search through the blog to happen across it.  So here are some images from the day… my favorite image is the one of Richard’s parents dancing with Richard and Star in the background… those are the little moments that you look for… the happenstance that had them both on the dance floor and close enough to get them both in the shot.  There are too many great images from this wedding… I’ll have to put some more up on facebook… so check out the Small Moments Studios facebook page for more.  And while you’re there, if you don’t already “like” us, why not start now?  You know you want to.  :)

As Best Man Shuman (sorry if I’m misspelling this) said (and I’m paraphrasing here), this is a perfect couple.  They seem like they’re the all-american couple from the 50’s or something like that.  All I know is that I knew that this would be a great wedding… I was looking forward to it, and I wasn’t disappointed.  Thanks Richard and Star.  Congratulations!

Be well.

Marie & Steve: Central Park Engagement Photography (Wedding Photography)

Filed under Engagement • Written by Ryan @ 12:39 pm

Okay, the last post from our marathon of engagement sessions last week… we did 7 engagement sessions and two weddings… busy busy busy.  So last engagement session, but certainly not least… Marie and Steve.  What can you say about these guys but that they are the perfect models.  They both just fell into place naturally… and for all Marie saying “we’ll need some help” with the whole posing thing, I didn’t have to do anything at all… they were just great together.  So here we are in Central Park… another place I love shooting.  We were featured in Bride’s NY magazine Sprint 2011 edition for our engagement sessions in Central Park… and what I love about the park is that again, you can go anywhere in the park and find your own little space where no one will bother you.  Every session there is different, and I always discover something new when I’m there.  So here are some great images from Marie and Steve’s engagement session!  Oh, and this was Marie’s make-up trial day with one of our favorite make-up stylists… Christine at Color Make-up Studio in Pearl River.  See you guys in October!

Be well,

-Ryan.

Natasha & Patrick: Town and Country Wedding Photography, Congers, NY (Rockland County)

I had the pleasure of photographing Natasha & Patrick’s wedding this past Saturday with Nick. What a wedding! The ceremony was beautiful. Afterwards, they both released a dove which was fun to capture on film… um, make that on compact flash card. We then headed to the reception at Town & Country in Congers, NY. It was booming! Tons of energy! The DJ kept the music going all night. Natasha looked stunning while Patrick was all GQ. Here are some teaser images that we captured.  Great wedding! Enjoy the honeymoon guys!

Amanda & Arren: Innisfree Engagement Session

Filed under Engagement • Written by Ryan @ 12:37 am

Another great engagement session post!  This past Thursday, Ryan and I headed up to a beautiful place in Millbrook, NY called Innisfree to shoot an engagement session.  We’ve been there before, but it was good to be back.  There we met up with Amanda and Arren.  They were fantastic.  Not only a fun couple to spend some time with, but they had such a great connection to each other.  Pretty obvious in the shots.  We walked along and found some really great spots to capture that connection.  Grass, rocks, water, trees, sky, etc. on a mere 150 acres.  What more could you ask for on such a beautiful day?  Amanda and Arren were really fun to work with.  I’m looking forward to their wedding in 2012!  Congratulations guys!

-Keith

Okay, a quick note from Ryan here… the next couple of pictures posted below are of shots I captured of Keith at work, and the subsequent images were the ones he got!  And while I’m butting in here, I agree, Amanda and Arren are awesome.

Melissa & Diego: Bear Mountain State Park Engagement Photography (Wedding Photography)

Filed under Engagement • Written by Ryan @ 11:40 pm

Melissa and Diego… awesome couple.  You might recognize the setting… it’s Bear Mountain… and yeah, we’ve done a bunch of engagement sessions there, but I tell ya, each session is different… each one has a different feel… we may take some pictures at the same spots, but it’s totally different each time.  Anyway, of course, after shooting these, I can’t wait for their wedding next May.  I’m sure it’ll be awesome!

It was pretty hot when we shot these pictures, and for some reason, every person in the world was at the park, so we were constantly surrounded by tons of people… but we managed to make it work despite the heat and the people, and we had a great time doing it.  Tons of fun… see you guys next year!

Enjoy!

Natasha and Patrick: Piermont, NY Engagement Photography (Town and Country Wedding Photography)

Filed under Engagement • Written by Ryan @ 5:05 pm

This past Thursday, Ryan and I had two great engagement sessions… one of them took place in Piermont, NY.  We took pictures of Natasha & Patrick just days before their wedding. Piermont is a great location… it’s right on the water with the Tappan Zee bridge in the background. Big clouds and a nice breeze helped make this another great session.  This couple was all smiles. Great smiles. Their wedding was this past Saturday.  We’ll have some images from their big day up soon, but until then, here are some shots from their engagement session. Congratulations Natasha and Patrick. All the best!

Megan & Chris: Engagement Session @ The Thayer Hotel, West Point

Filed under Engagement • Written by Ryan @ 9:12 am

Megan and Chris are getting married later this year… they had seen us shooting Kat and JP’s wedding last year and so they hired us… which means we get to see The Looby family once again.  From what Keith and I remember, they party pretty hard.  And we look forward to meeting Chris’ family as well.  We had a great engagement session with Megan and Chris at West Point… and we got to see some “war games” going on.  Megan and I thought that was pretty cool…

Anyway, great couple, fun day… check out some teasers.

Brandon & Kelly: New York Country Club Wedding Photography

Brandon and Kelly had a great wedding at the always fabulous New York Country Club in New Hempstead, New York.  Best Groomsmen gift ever has to be these swords… a little dangerous as they were all sharp, but still pretty cool… we got a couple of shots of the guys with their weapons.  And of course, some awesome shots of Kelly and the girls.  This wedding was a non-stop party… check out some of the images below!  Congratulations Brandon and Kelly!

Be well,

-Ryan.

Dylan & Sean: Falkirk Estate and Country Club Wedding Photography (Engagement Session)

Filed under Engagement • Written by Ryan @ 11:51 pm

Dylan and Sean are getting married next year at Falkirk Estate and Country Club.  Yes, yes, we have a fondness for Falkirk… such an awesome venue, and a great staff.  It was fun spending some time getting to know Dylan and Sean during their engagement session.  I’m keeping this location top secret for the moment… but I will give up the second location we went to as seen in the last image.  That’s CVS.  Yes yes, CVS.  It happens to be where Dylan and Sean first met, and so they donned their old work shirts and we took some fun pictures in the place they started their relationship.  Pretty cool!  Oh, and we ran into Dylan’s mom in the parking lot… which was neat.  That’s right.  I said neat.

Enjoy!

Michelle & Rich: Good Friends, Good Times

Filed under Engagement • Written by Ryan @ 11:35 pm

This past week we shot seven engagement sessions, starting with Michelle and Rich.  Michelle is a friend of mine since way back when… as in “way back with I had long hair” or “way back when I played in a band”… just way back.  I was happy and honored when she decided to book me for her wedding this September.  So being as Michelle and Rich are friends of mine, I knew the session would be fun.  What I didn’t fully realize was that we were going to go to Pennsylvania and hike for hours… we spent the day at Bushkill Falls… the Niagra Falls of Pennsylvania.  It was a bit of a hike and I’m slightly out of shape… and when I say slightly, I mean more than slightly.  But still I was able to keep up, even carrying my gear with me.  Truth is, I love hiking, so this was a lot of fun for me and I plan to go back with my wife soon.  My lesson learned was that sometimes ya gotta wear shorts.  I wish I had!  Anyway, it was fun and we got to see some great views and the falls are awesome.  I’m looking forward to Michelle and Rich’s wedding!  Here are some images from the day.

Enjoy!

-Ryan.
