Hey everybody… we’ve been busy in our offices working on albums and wedding films… hibernating for the winter and focusing on our edits.  If you’ve been keeping up with the blog, you’ve seen some of the great wedding video teasers we’ve been putting up.  We’ve also been delivering a lot of wedding films as well.  We’ve been getting great responses, not only from the bride and grooms, but also from some fans and future couples that we’re going to be working with.  I figured I’d also share with you some of the album spreads we’ve been working on.  So check them out below…

And we’ve got some new fantabulous studio albums coming to the studio this week and next week… we’ll post some pictures.  Some really cool stuff is on the way.  We’ll also be posting some helpful articles about makeup tips and wedding day advice.  We’re all charged up and ready to rock in 2013.

We’re excited to be shooting some promotional images for The Crowne Plaza in Suffern. If you haven’t been to that hotel in a year or two, you’d be amazed at the complete transformation it has undergone. The inside is beautiful… they’ve got a great waterfall inside and such an awesome space for cocktail hour. But meanwhile, since it’s snowing, I thought I’d get some night shots in the snow.

So again, if you haven’t been there in a while, check out The Crowne Plaza in Suffern… it’s lookin’ good!  Here’s a couple of the late night images…

Here’s another image from this past year that I loved.  Terrence and all the groomsmen all lined up, shot from the side… very cool.  Obviously, this shot was a little more set up than normal, but we were going for something specific here based on an old picture that Terrence remembered seeing of him and some of his military brothers.  He didn’t have the picture, but we understood what he wanted to capture and I think it came out great (as did Terrence). We had a great time with Terrence and Christina and their bridal party and we got some pretty awesome images during the formal and creative sessions of the day.  It’s all worth checking out… so click here to see the rest of the teaser images.

Here’s another one of my favorites and it happens to be from Joey and Sal’s wedding… earlier I posted one of her with her sari during the ceremony as a favorite… I don’t know, something about that one I really like.  But this one from the wedding was just great.  Shot at Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle… we had the timing right for a great image.

Here’s another one of my favorites… Kelly and Stephen were such a great couple and we had an awesome time capturing some cool images. We got a lot of great interactions between them as they are very fun and very sweet together. However, the shot below was slightly more planned, but yielded great results.  To me, this image is just gorgeous.  It makes me happy on a number of different levels, as not only do I love this image, but I know what went into making it.  We were done with all the pictures and we had to move on, but I wanted to get this image.  I didn’t have time to get lighting set up to offset the sun, since we were rushed at that point.  So in order to make this happen, we actually took two pictures and combined them afterwards.  One image, Keith is actually seen in because he held the flash right near them to get them lit that way… that was the quickest and easiest way to light them effectively.  The other image we took, Keith stepped aside so he wasn’t interfering with the shot.  In the end, we merge the two and get this.  I’ll put up a short video one of these days showing the original images and what we did.

Anyway, so this is another one of my favorites for the year.  I might need to blow this one up big for the studio…

I’ll probably be posting a slideshow or some sort of recap of 2012 weddings… but I also wanted to post some individual images that I really loved… some that stood out for me and made me especially happy.  Some of these might be  some of the creative images that we get with a bride and a groom… and others might be a candid moment that one of us caught that was special.  We have images that we love from every wedding we shoot (and those are featured in the Rock Star Slideshows that we post), but some images I wanted to highlight.

I’ll start it off with one of my favorite images… this is a candid moment during a ceremony for Joey and Sal.  There were some interesting traditions at this wedding, including when Sal was covered with a sari.  This one moment where she looked back and I caught the picture just stood out to me once I was looking at the images afterwards.  I named this image “Traditions” as one of the great things about this job is the different traditions that we get to experience.

We definitely captured a lot of great images throughout this day, and this isn’t the only image from this wedding that made it into my favorites for the year.  I’ll post another one later today or tomorrow from their wedding as well… one of the creative ones.  We’ll also have more slideshows and teasers and wedding film teasers coming this week as well.

Hey everyone… hope you had a great Thanksgiving. We’re still working and editing, though we did take a partial break for turkey.  We posted video teasers, galleries and slideshows and coming up soon, we’ll have more video teasers, more slideshows and more everything in the next couple of weeks here at Small Moments Studios. We had a chance to deliver a bunch of albums and videos and we’ll have more on the way. We’re working to get out all of our holiday orders.  Keep tuned to the blog and the facebook page to see everything as we post it.

I’m thankful for a lot of things… my beautiful wife and kids, for instance.  I know Keith is thankful for his wife as well.  We’re both thankful for all we have in our lives.  We’re also thankful for all of the amazing couples that we’ve worked with.  We’ve loved working with you all, and we’re also thankful for all the couples that we’ll be working with in 2013.

We hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Here’s a quick picture of my famous turkey… okay it’s only really famous in my family.  And maybe only famous to me. But still… it’s a glorious turkey.

Hey everybody… I hope you’re all doing okay after Super Storm Sandy… we were without power and internet for a little while, but we’re back up and running again. We did lose a few trees, but luckily they didn’t hit our house or car… though one tree came within 2 feet of the studio. We had already taken all important files and backed them up and put them in a secure area, so everyone’s footage was protected, but I’m still pretty happy that the tree missed hitting the studio. Check out below to see how close the tree came…

We managed to squeeze in a couple of engagement sessions in the days before Sandy showed up, so we’ll be posting some more engagement sessions, and we’ll be posting some more Rock Star video slideshows as well. A bunch of galleries are uploading right now, and we’ll have some more wedding galleries posting this week. We’ll be finishing off a lot of album designs and working to get final approvals on albums this week so we can ship out some more albums as well. Our goal is to get everyone their albums in early/mid December.

Thanks for the patience during this time… we’re up and cranking. For us it was a minor inconvenience, but for many, as most of you all know, it was a pretty devastating week, and many are still without power, heat and shelter. On our end, we’ll be donating supplies and money to the areas affected. Hopefully you all made it through without major damage or loss.
