I had the very cool honor of being asked to officiate and to photograph a very cool couple at the top of a mountain. I’ve been an officiant for nearly fourteen years at this point, and I love being asked to be a part of a couple’s wedding in that capacity. I’ve done a few other weddings this year as an officiant, but I wasn’t a photographer at the wedding as well. In this case, the wedding was to take place at Bonticou Crag up in New Paltz. It’s a challenging hike, mainly because of a rock scramble at the end that is a little intense. I’m thinking their are probably not a lot of officiants that would make that climb. For me, I love hiking and climbing… I enjoy indoor rock climbing as well, so I’m definitely up for something fun and different like this.
The ceremony atop this mountain was beautiful… the views are just stunning. This couple is fairly private, so we’re not posting a regular set of images, but here’s one of them that showcases some of the view. Honestly though, it’s a great hike and that’s the only way to really experience the view properly. I’ll add a cell phone panorama below as well.
Congratulations again to Lisa and Chris… it was a pleasure being a part of your day!
